What Colorado pays for appliances
We read Efficiency Works' retail products sheet (revised January 2026) on October 5, 2026. We did not find appliance rebates for ranges or dryers on the Colorado Springs Utilities rebate pages, and Xcel's pages would not load for our reader, so we state no Xcel appliance amount.
Induction range or cooktop replacing gas
Fort Collins Utilities customers. Needs a photo of the gas range before removal and one of the induction range after. Portable and single-burner units do not count.
Induction range or cooktop replacing electric
The unit must replace an existing electric range or counter-mounted cooktop.
Heat pump dryer
$100 for a standard dryer over 4.4 cubic feet, $50 for a compact one. ENERGY STAR Most Efficient certified.
Clothes washer
ENERGY STAR Most Efficient certified.
Panel upgrade for new appliances
A 200-amp or larger panel, paired with induction, an EV charger, a heat pump, solar or a battery. A load sharing device pays $250.
State income-based rebates (HEAR)
Up to $840 for an electric stove or cooktop and $4,000 for a panel while open. The single-family program is now closed.
Federal tax credit (25C)
Ended for spending after December 31, 2025.
Working it out
A Fort Collins household replaces a gas range with a $1,800 induction range and adds a $900 heat pump dryer. Efficiency Works pays up to $350 for the range and $100 for a standard dryer, so $450 back on $2,700 in appliances. If the electric panel needs a 200-amp upgrade to carry both, add up to $500 more, as long as the panel is paired with a listed project such as the induction range.
The rules for the retail rebates
Efficiency Works' retail products program is for Fort Collins Utilities, Estes Park, Longmont and Loveland electric customers. You buy anywhere, and apply within 45 days of purchase or installation, with proof of purchase showing the date, price and model. Used or refurbished equipment does not count, and the rebate cannot exceed the price you paid. Quantity limits apply per household and vary by item. Funding is limited, and the program can change measures without notice.
Induction replacing gas
The $350 for induction is the one meaningful appliance rebate we found in Colorado, and it is for replacing a gas range or cooktop. Efficiency Works requires a photo of the old gas range before removal and one of the new induction range after. The unit must be a range or a counter-mounted cooktop. A single portable burner does not qualify. Check that your kitchen has a 240-volt circuit, because an induction range uses one.
Heat pump dryers and washers
A heat pump dryer pays $50 if it is compact (4.4 cubic feet or less) and $100 if it is larger. A clothes washer pays $50. Both must be ENERGY STAR Most Efficient certified, which is a stricter list than plain ENERGY STAR, so check the model on the list before you buy. Advanced power strips also earn $7 or $20 depending on the type, which is the smallest offer on the sheet.
If you are not in Fort Collins
We did not find a range, dryer or washer rebate on the Colorado Springs Utilities rebate pages. Xcel's appliance offers, if any, we could not read in 2026. The Colorado Energy Office program offered $840 for an electric stove or cooktop for income-qualified households, but the single-family version closed in August 2026. Ask your utility directly before you buy.
Cooking and the panel
Switching from gas to induction can mean a new circuit and sometimes a bigger panel. Efficiency Works pays for a 200-amp panel only when it is done with a listed project, and it requires a licensed electrician and proof of the paired upgrade. If you also plan a heat pump or EV charger, one panel job can serve all of them.
