Short answer: Xcel Energy pays $750 per heating ton for a cold-climate heat pump, or $1,500 per ton for homes heated with Xcel gas, from October 1, 2026. It also pays $750 or $1,500 for a heat pump water heater, $50 for a smart thermostat and up to $500 for a home EV charger. Other utilities, such as Fort Collins and Colorado Springs, run their own programs that we have not verified yet.

$750 per heating ton for a cold-climate ducted heat pump, or $1,500 per ton with the gas bonus, starting October 1, 2026. A 3-ton system would get $2,250, or $4,500 with the bonus. Xcel's 2026 rebate sheet lists the amounts.
Homes heated with natural gas from Xcel Energy. Homes with electric heat, such as baseboards, get the standard amount only.
No. The federal 25C and 25D credits ended for spending after December 31, 2025, so we do not count them.
Choose Other utility. Fort Collins Utilities, Colorado Springs Utilities and others run separate programs. We list them only after checking their own pages, so the calculator shows no amounts for them yet.
