Two programs, two paths
Quebec's money comes from two places. Hydro-Québec's LogisVert Efficient Homes Program pays for heat pumps, central heating replacement, solar, appliances and roof insulation. The Québec government's Rénoclimat pays for insulation, windows, backup power and, since October 1, 2026, flood protection. The two overlap on roof insulation, so we show the larger one. Both are mostly in French, and the LogisVert application portal is French only.
Our Quebec rebate calculator asks a few questions and adds up only what is open.
Heat pumps and central heating (LogisVert)
LogisVert pays up to $6,700 for an ENERGY STAR heat pump that is on Hydro-Québec's eligible list, with more for a high-efficiency cold climate model. Check the list before you buy. Combine at least two measures in one application and the total grant gets a 5% bonus. In multi-unit buildings that meet the criteria, such as areas designated energy insecure, an ENERGY STAR wall-mounted cold climate heat pump earns $220 per 1,000 BTU/h at -8 C.
For central heating, there is no application. The authorized installer takes the amount off your invoice:
- Electric thermal storage system to replace a central heating unit: $15,000.
- Thermal storage plus a central heat pump: $22,000.
- Geothermal heat pump: $750 per 1,000 BTU/h.
LogisVert also pays $1,000 per installed kilowatt for solar panels (up to 40% of the cost), $1,500 for roof insulation and caulking, and $250 each for an induction range and a heat pump dryer. Hydro-Québec says LogisVert is still available and the federal funding announced October 8, 2026 does not change how requests are processed. Support is at 1-833-396-1888.
Insulation and windows (Rénoclimat, new terms)
On October 1, 2026 Rénoclimat changed. A pre-work energy evaluation is no longer required but is recommended, and an evaluation grant of up to $500 is offered. A licensed contractor must do the work. The maximum grants are:
| Measure | House | Duplex, triplex, multi-unit |
|---|---|---|
| Roof insulation | $2,000 | $5,000 |
| Exterior wall insulation | $7,000 | $11,000 |
| Foundation insulation | $2,500 | $3,500 |
| Windows ($300 each) | $4,500 | $6,000 |
There are also new grants of up to $1,000 for connecting a backup power source and up to $4,000 for a fixed battery, for principal residences and multi-unit buildings. A new online portal was still being built when we read the page, promised for this fall. You can already do eligible work. Keep your invoices and the contractor's signed compliance form.
Flood protection (new)
The new Rénoclimat Adaptation stream pays for prevention. The simple path covers a submersible pump with a battery (up to $1,000), a backwater valve (up to $700) and a removable flood barrier (up to $800). Homes in a flood zone can take a guided path that starts with a mandatory climate resilience diagnostic (up to $1,000), then pays up to $35,000 or 75% of eligible expenses for foundation protection and related work.
What we could not confirm
Several websites still list a Rénoclimat maximum of $3,750, or a Chauffez vert program. We could not confirm either on an official page, so we do not state them. The federal Oil to Heat Pump Affordability program is closed. Ottawa's National Heat Pump Rebate is expected in early 2027, and we do not know how it will combine with LogisVert. See our National Heat Pump Rebate guide.
Common questions
Read the questions and answers
How much is the Hydro-Québec heat pump grant?
Up to $6,700 for an ENERGY STAR heat pump on Hydro-Québec's eligible list, through the LogisVert program. Combining at least two measures in one application adds a 5% bonus.
Is the LogisVert portal available in English?
No. Hydro-Québec says the portal is only available in French. Program support at 1-833-396-1888 can help.
What changed in Rénoclimat in October 2026?
The pre-work evaluation became optional, new grants for a backup power connection, a fixed battery and an evaluation were added, and a flood protection stream started. A new portal was still being built.
How much does Rénoclimat pay for windows?
$300 per window, up to $4,500 for a house or $6,000 for a duplex, triplex or multi-unit building.
