A standard heat pump rebate runs $8,500 to $9,500. Income-qualified households can reach $25,000. Insulation is 75% covered for everyone, 100% free below 60% of area median income. Add solar, battery storage, water heater, windows, EV charger, and smart thermostat rebates, and a single program covers all 8 categories we track — administered consistently across the state's utilities rather than fragmented city by city or utility by utility.

That combination — genuinely large numbers, one coherent administrator, funding that's actually open right now — is rare. It's the reason Massachusetts became our first US market instead of staying a "someday" state.

What research turned up once we started building

The rebate amounts were the easy part to document. What took longer, and what most competitor content skips entirely, were two things:
