The problem BC didn't prepare us for
CleanBC gave every BC city the same rebate menu with only minor local variation. Ontario's Home Renovation Savings Program doesn't work that way — amounts shift by fuel type, by city, and sometimes by specific utility territory. Two homes ten minutes apart can legitimately qualify for different numbers.
What that meant for our build
We couldn't reuse BC's template and swap in new city names. Each of Ontario's 18 cities needed its own verified numbers, checked against the actual local distribution company serving that address — not an assumption based on the province as a whole. We built a project skill specifically for this (LDC lookup + link validation) before adding any new Ontario city, because getting the utility wrong means giving a homeowner the wrong rebate entirely.
The payoff
Full coverage across Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, and 13 more cities — each with real installer directories, real local numbers, and the same 8-category standard we hold every region to. Ontario's 15.4M population means this is our single largest market by reach, even though the per-home rebate is often smaller than BC's.
