Appliance rebates in Pennsylvania in 2026
Each card names the fact we keep on file. PECO's amounts come from its rebate program site and PPL's from its rebate catalog. PPL's catalog was re-read on October 6, 2026 and PECO's on October 5.
PECO clothes washer and dryer
ENERGY STAR certified. Washer $25, dryer $15.
PECO refrigerator
ENERGY STAR certified. Skip the rebate if you took an instant discount on the same unit.
PECO dehumidifier and air purifier
The air purifier must have a smoke CADR of at least 51 CFM.
PECO power strips and small items
Advanced power strips up to $15. Pipe insulation, aerators and low-flow showerheads up to $3.
PPL refrigerator
The higher amount is for enhanced income-based offers.
PPL dehumidifier and air purifier
Dehumidifier $25 or $50, air purifier $25.
PPL air conditioners
Central A/C $150 or $175. Room A/C $15.
PGW gas equipment
Per piece of qualifying high-efficiency gas equipment, up to $2,000 on the Affordable tier. For homes on PGW gas in Philadelphia.
These are flat amounts. Next to a $900 refrigerator, a $20 or $50 rebate is a thank-you, not a discount that changes your choice. The bigger Pennsylvania money is for heat pumps, heat pump water heaters and insulation, which have their own pages.
PECO's rules
A PECO rebate needs a new product that meets the unit efficiency rule and is installed at a home that receives PECO residential electric service. Apply within 90 days of the purchase, and attach a paid receipt that shows the model number, maker, price and date. You can ask a contractor to apply, apply online, or mail the PDF form. Anyone who got an instant discount, through PECO Marketplace or a store sticker, cannot claim a second rebate on the same product.
PPL's rules
PPL lists 15 rebates in total, and the appliance items are refrigerators, dehumidifiers, air purifiers and air conditioners. The store notes that some customers qualify for larger enhanced amounts based on income, which is why several amounts show as "or". Equipment installed on or before May 31, 2026 no longer qualifies. PPL does not list a clothes washer or dryer rebate.
If your utility is Duquesne Light or FirstEnergy
Duquesne Light's rebate store said on October 6, 2026 that energy rebates are not available yet while the next round is brought online. FirstEnergy Pennsylvania's pages would not load for us, and its rebate portal asked for a login. We therefore show no amount for Pittsburgh-area Duquesne customers or for Penelec, Met-Ed, Penn Power or West Penn Power customers. Call your utility before you shop.
Pick by running cost, not by rebate
ENERGY STAR labels carry a yearly energy estimate. Compare it between models, and multiply the saving by the years you will own the appliance. For a refrigerator that is often a longer horizon than any rebate. A small rebate can still tip a close choice between two models.
Gas appliances and gas utilities
PECO's gas rebates apply only to PECO natural gas customers. In Philadelphia, most gas comes from PGW, which has its own EnergySense equipment program. That program paid out 341 approved rebates and showed 50% of its funds used when we read it, and it runs on a first come, first served basis to August 31, 2027. Funds can run out before then, so apply promptly.
How to claim an appliance rebate in Pennsylvania
- Check whether your electric utility is PECO or PPL Electric.
- Buy an ENERGY STAR certified model and keep the paid receipt with the model number.
- Check whether an instant discount is on offer first, since it replaces the rebate.
- Apply online, by mail, or through your contractor.
- For PECO, apply within 90 days. For PPL, check the deadline shown in the store.
