Ameren's own HVAC PAYS page says the program is not available to Illinois customers. It is an Ameren Missouri program, so do not trust ads that suggest otherwise.
Peak Time Savings thermostat program
Ameren's page lists a $50 sign-up bonus and $25 a year, but its eligibility text names Missouri customers. Confirm for Illinois before you count on it.
Home Weatherization Assistance Program
State program for households at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. It works through local community action agencies, whatever your utility.
Illinois Shines solar credits
In Ameren Illinois's area (called Group A) a home solar system of 10 kW or less earns $70.37 per credit in 2026-27. See our Illinois Shines page for how it works.
Ameren's efficiency page also lists a free home energy assessment for qualified households, an online marketplace with smart thermostat offers, and a CommunitySavers program for income-eligible customers. We could not read the details for Illinois, so we do not give amounts.
Who Ameren Illinois serves
Ameren Illinois serves communities across central and southern Illinois with electricity, gas or both. Peoria is one of them, according to the company's rate schedules. If you are in the Chicago area, your electric company is ComEd and your gas company is Peoples Gas or Nicor Gas, and those pages have read amounts.
Why we do not list amounts
A rebate page with a number we could not read is worse than no page. Our rule is simple: every amount must come from the official page, read on a date we can name. Ameren Illinois's rebate site returned a 403 error to our reader. We did not try to get around it. A person in a normal web browser can open the page, and when we or you do, the amounts will show. Until then, a call to Ameren Illinois is the safe way to learn what applies to your equipment.
Third-party rebate sites do print Ameren Illinois numbers. We do not copy them, because they are often a year behind the utility.

What you can do now
If your income is under the state limits, apply for free weatherization. For a household of four the limit is $66,000 a year, and you can also qualify if you got help from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program in the last 12 months. The federal tax credits for heat pumps, insulation and solar ended for work done after December 31, 2025, so we do not count on them.

- Confirm Ameren Illinois is your electric or gas company on your bill.
- Open AmerenIllinoisSavings.com in a normal web browser and look at the products and rebates page.
- Call Ameren Illinois to confirm any amount you find, especially for heat pumps and thermostats.
- Keep invoices and model numbers, and ask whether the contractor files the paperwork.
- If you qualify by income, apply for free weatherization through your local community action agency.
