What LADWP pays in 2026
LADWP's Consumer Rebate Program covers many products and funds are limited. We read its pages on October 2, 2026. Each card names the fact with the date and source link. Amounts depend on tier, so use the card as a guide and read LADWP's table before you buy.
Heat pump heating and cooling
Ducted $1,000 to $1,250 per ton and ductless $1,500 to $2,500 per ton by SEER2 and HSPF2 tier. Minimum 15.2 SEER2 and 7.7 HSPF2. From November 1, 2025.
Heat pump water heater
By tank size and UEF. Minimum UEF 3.3 and 30 gallons.
Windows
ENERGY STAR windows. LADWP does rebate windows, despite what some sites say.
Attic insulation
$0.50 per sq ft above R-19 and $0.30 at R-19 or below, plus a $0.25 launch special LADWP says was extended. Batt and roll only. Apply within 12 months.
EV charger
For a qualifying Level 2 charger, plus $500 for lifeline or EZ-SAVE customers and $250 for a dedicated EV meter.
Smart thermostat and Power Savers
Up to $100 back on an ENERGY STAR thermostat, and a $55 prepaid card plus up to $90 a year for joining the demand response season.
Solar and storage equity funds
LADWP administers the SGIP equity funds for households at or below 80% of area median income. There is no general LADWP battery rebate.
Who LADWP serves
LADWP supplies electricity in the City of Los Angeles. Glendale, Burbank and Pasadena run their own utilities, and Santa Monica and Long Beach buy from Southern California Edison, so a Los Angeles County address does not guarantee LADWP service. Check your bill. Our Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena pages cover those utilities.
Rules that catch people out
Most LADWP rebates need a finaled building permit and an application within 12 months of purchase. New construction and accessory dwelling units are excluded. Funds are limited and first come, first served, so a rebate that is open today can close. Attic insulation rebates apply only to projects bought and installed on or after September 1, 2025, and only batt and roll insulation qualifies, not blown-in.
What LADWP does not pay
LADWP has no general cash rebate for solar batteries. Battery money is limited to the SGIP equity funds for households at or below 80% of area median income. State and federal programs add little in 2026: TECH Clean California and the federal home electrification rebates are reserved or paused, and the federal 25C and 25D credits ended after 2025.
Stacking LADWP rebates
Several LADWP programs can be used on one house, since each item has its own line. A heat pump, a water heater and attic insulation together can reach several thousand dollars. See our stacking guide for a worked example.
How to claim a LADWP rebate

- Check the equipment tier and size in LADWP's rebate table before you buy.
- Pull the permit and get it finaled for items that need one.
