Common questions

How much is the Ontario heat pump rebate in 2026?

Home Renovation Savings pays $1,250 per ton, up to $7,500, for a cold-climate air-source heat pump if you heat with electricity, oil, propane or wood. A ground-source heat pump pays $2,000 per ton, up to $12,000. If you heat with Enbridge natural gas the amounts are $500 per ton (up to $2,000) for air source and $3,000 for ground source.

Is there a rebate for a new gas furnace in Ontario?

No. Home Renovation Savings lists heat pumps, not furnaces, so a new gas furnace gets no rebate.

Can I get a free smart thermostat in Ontario?

The Energy Affordability Program is the free path, for households under its income limits. Everyone else can get the $125 Home Renovation Savings thermostat rebate after buying one.

Is the federal Greener Homes loan still open?

No. The last day to apply was October 1, 2025. People who were already approved can continue.
