New Jersey Rebate Calculator 2026: What Your Utility Pays

New Jersey rebates come from your electric utility and from a few state programs. This calculator shows what PSE&G, JCP&L and Atlantic City Electric pay today.

By Sam Menard · Rules last verified October 6, 2026

Short answer: New Jersey has no one statewide heat pump rebate. Your electric utility pays it. PSE&G, JCP&L and Atlantic City Electric each pay up to $10,000 when a cold climate heat pump replaces a gas, oil or propane heating system, and smaller amounts for a standard heat pump, a heat pump water heater and a smart thermostat. PSE&G also pays up to $5,000 for a home battery. The federal tax credits ended after 2025.

Common questions

Is there a heat pump rebate in New Jersey?

Yes, from your electric utility. PSE&G, JCP&L and Atlantic City Electric all pay up to $10,000 (more for income-qualified homes) when a cold climate heat pump replaces gas, oil or propane heat. A standard heat pump earns $300 to $1,000 depending on the utility and efficiency.

Which utility serves my home?

Look at the top of your electric bill. PSE&G serves much of northern and central New Jersey, including Newark and Jersey City. JCP&L serves much of the central and shore area, including Toms River. Atlantic City Electric serves the southern part of the state, including Atlantic City.

Is there a New Jersey solar rebate?

There is no cash rebate. New Jersey pays solar owners credits for the power they make (about $77 per megawatt-hour for registrations from July 27, 2026), plus net metering and a property tax exemption.

Are the federal tax credits still available?

No. The 25C and 25D credits ended for spending after December 31, 2025.
