Can I get a rebate in BC if I replace electric baseboards with a heat pump?

Yes. BC Hydro pays up to $4,000 when the heat pump covers all of your heating at -5°C, or $1,500 when it covers at least half. You need a BC Hydro electric account, an HPCN installer and an eligible model. Income Level 1 households can get up to $5,000 from CleanBC instead.

What are the CleanBC income limits for 2026?

For a household of four, combined income before tax must be at most $94,900 for Level 1, $118,600 for Level 2 or $189,800 for Level 3. Limits change with household size, and the calculator checks them for you.

How much does CleanBC pay to switch from gas, oil or propane?

Up to $13,000 at Level 1, $7,000 at Level 2 and $3,500 at Level 3 for a central ducted or 3+ head heat pump. Homes north of 100 Mile House with BC Hydro electricity can add up to $3,000 at Levels 1 and 2.

Can I use BC Hydro rebates if FortisBC supplies my electricity?

No. FortisBC electric customers use FortisBC rebates, which pay up to $4,000 for a heat pump replacing electric heat. Kelowna and Penticton electricity is not BC Hydro.

Does the calculator include the federal Greener Homes grant?

No. The Canada Greener Homes grant and loan have closed, so we do not count them.
