Alberta Rebate Calculator 2026: What's Actually Open

Alberta has fewer rebates than most provinces. This calculator shows what is open in your city today, and what is not.

By Sam Menard · Rules last verified September 26, 2026

Short answer: Alberta has no provincial heat pump or solar rebate, and the federal Greener Homes grant and oil-to-heat-pump program are closed. What exists is local: Red Deer pays $50 for a smart thermostat, EPCOR runs a small thermostat pilot in Edmonton, and clean energy loans in Calgary, St. Albert and Edmonton are paused, on a waitlist or unconfirmed.

Common questions

Is there a heat pump rebate in Alberta?

We could not find one. Utility heat pump rebate ranges quoted on some sites (ENMAX, ATCO, EPCOR, FortisAlberta) have no source on the utilities' own pages, so we do not list amounts. Ask your utility before you buy.

What happened to the federal oil-to-heat-pump program in Alberta?

It closed. July 31, 2026 was the last day for Alberta residents to apply. The Greener Homes grant and loan are also closed.

What is the Clean Energy Improvement Program?

A loan repaid on your property tax bill. It is financing, not a rebate. Calgary's intake is closed until winter 2026/2027, St. Albert takes waitlist applications only, and Lethbridge is at capacity.

Does Alberta join the new federal affordability program?

Not as of August 31, 2026. Only BC, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, PEI and Quebec take part.
