What National Grid actually offers
National Grid administers the statewide NYS Clean Heat program in its New York territory. The program manual specifies that an eligible ERV or HRV installed alongside a qualifying heat pump and envelope upgrade can also receive an incentive — but only through the Custom Track, which is engineered and priced per project rather than listed as a flat residential rebate.
NYS Clean Heat Custom Track (bundled only)
Buffalo's historic housing stock, much of it built before World War II, was designed to leak air freely — which kept indoor air fresh by accident, until it gets sealed up during an efficiency retrofit.
We checked National Grid's published residential rebate materials directly rather than assume ventilation coverage would match the heat pump rebate — it doesn't, and we'd rather say that plainly than list a number that isn't real.
