Fort Collins Utilities runs its home rebates through the regional Efficiency Works platform, shared with Loveland, Longmont, and Estes Park. Both the city's own programs-and-rebates page and the Efficiency Works for-your-home rebate list cover insulation, heat pumps, and water heating equipment, but neither lists a heat recovery or energy recovery ventilator rebate.
Fort Collins has some of the coldest, driest winters on the northern Front Range, and the city has pushed hard on home electrification and tighter new-construction energy codes. That combination — cold, dry air outside and increasingly airtight homes inside — is the textbook case for a balanced ventilation system, even though the rebate catalog stops short of funding one.
The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C) expired December 31, 2025 and never listed HRVs or ERVs as qualifying equipment while it was active, so there's no federal credit filling the gap. For now, an HRV or ERV in Fort Collins is an out-of-pocket upgrade.
