How much you get
There's no flat dollar rebate for a heat recovery ventilator (HRV) or energy recovery ventilator (ERV) from SCE in Ontario the way there is for a heat pump or water heater. Ventilation equipment simply isn't a category SCE funds in its residential rebate catalog right now.
Ontario's rapid warehouse-adjacent residential growth means a lot of newer homes here are built to modern, tighter energy codes — again, the profile where mechanical ventilation actually matters, rebate or not.
It's also worth ruling out the two programs homeowners sometimes assume cover this. TECH Clean California funds heat pump HVAC and heat pump water heater installs, not ventilation equipment — and as of late 2025 its single-family heat pump incentives were fully reserved anyway. And the federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C), which used to cover 30% of some efficiency upgrades, expired December 31, 2025; even while it was active, it never listed HRVs or ERVs among qualifying equipment. So for now, an HRV or ERV in Ontario is an out-of-pocket upgrade.
