Home Energy Rebates on Cape Cod

Still heating your Cape Cod home with oil? Here's what a switch to a heat pump actually pays for in 2026, and what to check first if your home is seasonal.

Barnstable County, served by Eversource.

What Cape Cod homeowners can claim

Cape Cod is a region, not a single city — it covers towns across Barnstable County. Eversource is the electric utility here, and Eversource participates fully in Mass Save, so Cape Cod homeowners get the same statewide rebate amounts as the rest of Massachusetts. All amounts below are in US dollars.

Why Cape Cod is a strong case for heat pumps

Many homes on Cape Cod are older and still heat with oil. Oil heat costs more per unit of heat than a modern heat pump running on electricity, so switching is often one of the strongest financial moves a Cape homeowner can make — on top of the Mass Save rebate itself.

Seasonal and vacation homes: Eligibility rules can differ for seasonal or vacation properties. We can't confirm exactly how Mass Save treats a specific seasonal-home situation, so if that describes your Cape Cod property, confirm your eligibility directly with Mass Save before assuming standard rules apply.
