Which rebate applies to your Fremont address?
Most of Fremont is served by PG&E. But parts of the city—especially eastern Fremont—are in SMUD fringe territory, which offers much better rebates. Check your utility bill to see if you're PG&E or SMUD.

SMUD Fringe (Parts of East Fremont)
Air-source heat pump from SMUD. No pre-approval needed. Much higher than PG&E.
SMUD Fringe Ground-Source
Ground-source (geothermal) heat pump. Best rebate available in any California territory.

Look at your power bill. It clearly states "PG&E" or "SMUD" at top.
I'm on PG&E. How do I claim?
- Get PG&E pre-approval (2–4 weeks)
- Choose a PG&E-approved contractor
- Work is completed
- Submit paperwork to PG&E
- Rebate arrives 4–8 weeks after completion
I'm on SMUD Fringe. How do I claim?
- Contact SMUD for rebate eligibility confirmation
- Choose SMUD-approved contractor (different list than PG&E)
- Work is completed
- SMUD processes rebate
- Much higher rebate applied
