Home Energy Rebates in Fremont

Fremont straddles PG&E and SMUD fringe territory. Complete guide to figuring out which rebate applies at your address.

Which rebate applies to your Fremont address?

Most of Fremont is served by PG&E. But parts of the city—especially eastern Fremont—are in SMUD fringe territory, which offers much better rebates. Check your utility bill to see if you're PG&E or SMUD.

I'm on PG&E. How do I claim?

  1. Get PG&E pre-approval (2–4 weeks)
  2. Choose a PG&E-approved contractor
  3. Work is completed
  4. Submit paperwork to PG&E
  5. Rebate arrives 4–8 weeks after completion

I'm on SMUD Fringe. How do I claim?

  1. Contact SMUD for rebate eligibility confirmation
  2. Choose SMUD-approved contractor (different list than PG&E)
  3. Work is completed
  4. SMUD processes rebate
